メリークリスマス!

Today is Christmas Eve but, as usual, C-chan and I already celebrated early Christmas yesterday.

10 Ways We Celebrated Early Christmas

1. Went to the Imperial palace and wished the Emperor a happy birthday
2. Got a Christmas groping from the security guards at the Imperial Palace
3. Made Christmas art from McDonald's french fries
4. Had a Christmas wander around the Kagurazaka neighborhood
5. Did Christmas karaoke
6. Saw Santas wandering about
7. Went to Christmas work/had a Christmas nap (the former for me, the latter for Clare)
8. Had Christmas dinner at Meguro Tavern
9. Had Christmas drinks (white wine at karaoke and sparkling wine with dinner)
10. Wore Christmas hats/hair accessories

Anyway, enjoy the unnecessarily long Christmas video and have a Happy Christmas!

Merry Christmas!

Okay, so it's super early for Christmas, but Japan has been celebrating it for quite a while now. And I did enjoy some Christmas decor last night. We went to the Tokyo Disney Resort in the evening to enjoy the fireworks (from the ticket queue area of DisneySea) and Sweets Paradise and seasonal merchandise. All lovely! Quite enjoyed the Ikspiari decorations, especially once we figured out that ringing the wishing bell is what made the tree have a light show and play a song (sometimes a Disney song, as in the video, sometimes a Christmas song). Delightful!

Anyway, how much do I love that I live where I can just randomly decide to hang around the Disney resort for the evening? SO MUCH LOVE. Hopefully I'll get to enjoy the actual parks for the Christmas season, but it was pretty nice just hanging out in the general vicinity for a while.

In non-Christmas news, exciting Osaka trip in a couple weeks! To see Wicked! CANNOT WAIT.

メリークリスマス!

Today is Christmas, but I actually celebrated two days ago! Wednesday was a national holiday, so we had the day off; my friend and I took the chance to do Christmas things while we had the time.

10 Ways We Celebrated Christmas

1. Went to a movie (Avatar)
2. Visited temples (near to where I live, but I'd never gone before)
3. Ran into people we know (in Toshimaen and Ikebukuro)
4. Gave to the Salvation Army (outside Ikebukuro station)
5. Went shopping (in Loft)
6. Did Christmas karaoke (an hour and a half of Christmas songs!)
7. Had Christmas dinner and pudding (at an English pub in Meguro)
8. Had a Christmas drink (complimentary bubbly with our dinner)
9. Enjoyed Christmas lights (at Midtown in Roppongi)
10. People-watched (the other people enjoying the Christmas lights in Roppongi)

It was a lovely, magical time! Please enjoy some pictures from our day!

Thinking of you and wishing you a Very Happy Christmas! I'm on my way to work now, but I enjoyed opening presents and listening to Nat King Cole this morning!
