Hanami!

It is sakura season again! For me, the reappearance of the cherry blossoms reminds me that I have come full circle. Last year, I was new to Japan when I enjoyed the sakura. And now I've been here more than a year!

It has been very cold this year, but I have enjoyed hanami (cherry blossom viewing) anyway! This weekend I went to moonlight hanami (and then karaoke) and then enjoyed in the day the next afternoon. Moonlight was in Hikarigaoka Park (lovely!), but we traveled to Kichijoji for the afternoon and visited Inokashira Park. It was fantastic! Crowded (but not nearly so bad as Ueno Park was when I went there last year), but we were still able to find a nice place to have our picnic near the pond. So pretty! I will miss the sakura when they go (very soon! limited time offer!), but I look forward to meeting them again next spring!

The picture is from Ikebukuro last weekend (we weren't in a park, but we grabbed drinks from the conbini and had random sidewalk hanami), and the video is from Inokashira Park. Please enjoy!
